Start a video appointment with a veterinarian

An online veterinarian appointment works in the same way as a normal vet appointment, but by video. All you need is a mobile phone, tablet or PC with a camera.

Always have access to a vet in your pocket

When you have DNB pet insurance, you get an unlimited number of video appointments with a vet each year, should an injury or illness occur. If you have your mobile handy, you can rest assured that you’ll get help if anything should happen, whether you’re at home or away. FirstVet is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How to get in touch with a vet

Register your case with Fremtind

  • Before you book a video appointment with the vet, you need to register the case with Fremtind.

It is necessary to get an injury number that is used when you contact FirstVet.

Activate a free video consultation

Make an appointment

  • When you have registered with Fremtind and followed the instructions, you can book an appointment.

To book an appointment, log in to firstvet.no or in the FirstVet app by entering the telephone number you registered with when you activated the free video consultation.

Follow the registration steps at FirstVet. Enter the pet’s information and select DNB as the insurance company.

Describe the symptoms and choose a time that suits you. It’s also possible to upload a picture, which may make it easier for the vet to give a good assessment.

If it’s urgent, there are often drop-in times available.

Video appointment

  • The consultation takes place via a video appointment. FirstVet will send a text message before the meeting – then you can log in to the app or on the website. All veterinarians are licensed to practice in Norway.

After the consultation

  • FirstVet will make a diagnosis and help provide suitable treatment. If your pet needs additional examinations, you will get a referral.

After the appointment, the medical records and the vet’s advice will be sent to you. The records are always available in the app.

Low-threshold veterinary services

Sometimes it can be difficult to know when to visit a vet clinic and when you can wait. – Maybe you’re staying in your cabin in the mountains or forest, far away from the closest vet? With pet insurance, you get access to online veterinarians so you can easily get guidance, advice and referrals when required. This lowers the threshold for getting help and avoids unnecessary veterinary visits. With pet insurance, you can contact FirstVet as often as needed, should your pet get injured or ill.
